If you are currently having therapy or if you are in contact with me to consider therapy, I will process your personal data where it is necessary for the performance of our contract.
If you have had therapy with me and it has now ended, I will use legitimate interest as my lawful basis for holding and using your personal information.
The GDPR also makes sure that I look after any sensitive personal information that you may disclose to me appropriately. This type of information is called ‘special category personal information’. The lawful basis for me processing any special categories of personal information is that it is for provision of health treatment (in this case counselling) and necessary for a contract with a health professional (in this case, a contract between me and you).

Should you choose to contact me using the enquiry form on the website none of the data that you supply will be stored by the website or passed to any third-party data processors. Inspire Counselling & Psychotherapy uses Outlook to supply my email service, and Ionos to host my website including the online enquiry forms on my website. Both companies are required to be complaint in protecting your data.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk of the personal information we process. 7. Retention of Your Information
During Counselling: I do not retain WhatsApp/text messages or emails for more than 1 week. If there is relevant information contained in a text message or email, I will keep this in a secure encrypted data file, or a securely locked filing cabinet. Any other correspondence will be deleted after 7 days if it is not important. If necessary, I will take any relevant information and add it to your notes file.
After counselling has ended: Once counselling has ended your records will be kept for 3 years.
